Every year the Conference of the Parties in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is held worldwide. In 2010 it was held in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Modebo® was honored to participate in this important event, not only as a special guest of the Mexican delegation but as a designer of high-tech to monitor the exhibited sample house in Green Solutions at COP16. This exhibition was intended to showcase its visitors the average consumption of electrical energy efficient appliances. At the same time Modebo® participated as a panelist in "Transformational low-carbon solutions to create sustainable value chains" in Green Solutions at COP16.
In 2010 it was held the first edition of Cleantech Challenge Mexico, a business plan contest for cleantech companies. This nationwide competition brought together entrepreneurs, investors, non-governmental organizations and academic and government institutions on the same platform created to promote the growth of the new green economy in Mexico. In this edition, more than 300 proposals were received from green companies in Mexico, of which only 64 were accepted to participate in the contest. Modebo® was chosen not only within these 64 companies, but was a finalist and ranked among the top 8 companies nationwide for its excellent business plan for high technology developed by Mexican engineers. Cleantech Challenge Mexico SC and Green Momentum, main sponsors of the contest, are two organizations that seek to promote sustainable development in Mexico. Both are intended primarily to promote sustainability in Mexico through technological development and innovation.
